Special Visits Organized by the PHYSOR 2026 Organizing Committee

PHYSOR 2026 participants will have the opportunity to join exclusive visits organized directly by the Conference Organizing Committee on Thursday, April 23, 2026, following the Closing Ceremony.

These visits combine contemporary art and scientific heritage, offering a unique cultural perspective closely connected to the spirit of the conference.

Locations

Villa Chiuminatto is an elegant historic villa dating back to 1923, located in the Crocetta district of Turin. Built by architect Gottardo Gussoni, a protégé of Pietro Fenoglio (Art Nouveau architect, Turin-based) it stands out for its eclectic style and unusual travertine façade.

Intersting facts: Over the decades, it has passed through nine different families, each leaving its mark, and even inspired a curious mystery: in the 1990s, bones dating back to 1938 were discovered in the garden exactly where a spirit—summoned during séances in the 1980s—had claimed a body was buried.

Versatile and atmospheric, the Villa has hosted film and TV productions since the 1950s and was once home to actress Caterina Boratto (actress in film La grande bellezza by Paolo Sorrentino). Today it houses newcleo and the BuonoLopera Foundation, which offers guided tours to explore its history and hidden stories. It also hosts the PHYSOR workshops and is included in the official tour programme.

In spring, the experience becomes even more special: the garden blooms into a colorful oasis in the middle of the city—an unexpected corner of beauty waiting to be discovered.

Participants will follow a single-group itinerary:

3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. → GAM – Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea

4:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. → Break and transfer (approximately 11-minute walk through the pedestrian area)

4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. → Villa Chiuminatto (newcleo headquarters)

A 30-minute break is scheduled between visits, including walking time through the pedestrian area (approximately 11 minutes on foot).
